Hi, I’m Kimiko.
I’m a vegetarian, a mom, a busy professional, someone who loves camping and traveling, and someone who believes that eating and living well doesn’t have to be complicated.
I’m also the person who puts up with Todd — which probably deserves its own post someday 😉
Why this corner exists
Life is full.
Work is busy.
Schedules are packed.
And most days, we’re all just trying to do our best with what we’ve got.
I’ve never been interested in extreme routines, perfect diets, or “doing everything right.” What I am interested in is simple, realistic choices that make life feel a little better — physically and mentally.
That’s what this space is for.
Food doesn’t need to be fancy to be good
I eat vegetarian, but my approach is very practical.
I like food that is:
- simple
- comforting
- easy to prepare
- satisfying without being heavy
Some days that looks like a thoughtfully cooked meal.
Other days it’s something basic that gets everyone fed and moving on with their day.
Both count.
I’m not here to impress anyone — I’m here to share what actually works in real life.
A love of being outside (even when it’s messy)
Camping, traveling, and being outdoors have always grounded me.
There’s something about:
- waking up somewhere new
- eating simpler food
- being away from constant noise
that resets everything.
Not every trip is Instagram-perfect. Sometimes it’s cold, sometimes it rains, sometimes things go sideways. But even then, I always come back feeling clearer.
That perspective carries into everyday life more than people realize.
Balancing it all (imperfectly)
Being a mom, having a career, and trying to take care of yourself at the same time is a constant balancing act.
Some days feel smooth.
Other days feel like you’re just reacting.
I don’t have a secret formula — but I’ve learned that:
- small habits matter
- flexibility matters more than rules
- giving yourself grace goes a long way
That’s the lens I’ll be writing from.
What you’ll find here
In Kimiko’s Korner, I’ll be sharing things like:
- simple vegetarian meals and ideas
- thoughts on staying grounded while juggling a lot
- travel and camping reflections
- everyday approaches to feeling better, not perfect
Nothing preachy. Nothing extreme. Just honest thoughts from real life.
If something here resonates, I’m glad you’re here.
If it doesn’t, that’s okay too.
This is just a little corner — and you’re welcome in it.
